At Enterprise Retirement Living (ERL), we are committed to doing everything we can to safeguard our property owners, potential customers, employees, suppliers and business contacts. To comply with the Government’s introduction of restrictions on people’s movements and business operations, which is essential to stem the spread of Coronavirus, we increased our own measures to help keep everyone safe. However, following recent changes in those restrictions, we re-opened the Sales Offices at our villages on 1 June, with all possible social distancing and hygiene measures in place.
We are also working on a procedure to enable Head Office staff to return to the office from the beginning of July (subject to Government guidance at the time) on a phased, socially distanced and hygiene-aware basis.
The communal areas within our retirement villages are gradually being re-opened for our owners’ use, although external visitors are still being discouraged. When the time is right, we will look at reintroducing wider social events for our owners and other invited guests to enjoy. In the meantime, for everyone’s safety, owners are being encouraged to continue practising social distancing, and the enhanced cleaning and hygiene regimes that were introduced will remain in place. Our teams in the villages also continue to help owners by doing shopping and collecting prescriptions, if required, and they’re available 24/7 for anyone who needs assistance or reassurance.
All of our sales and Head Office staff, whilst still currently working from home pending the gradual return to the office, are working from home, and they are still dedicated to supporting the operational teams in the villages and, of course, each other.
Visits by potential customers are now allowed by appointment only, although virtual viewings are being encouraged whilst the initial cautious steps to some sort of normality are taken. For any sales enquiries, please call the Sales Office at the relevant retirement village; our Sales Consultants are ready and able to take your calls, and they can discuss your requirements and arrange for a virtual or actual viewing, depending on your circumstances.
We are pleased to report that, to date, none of our villages or offices have had any cases of Coronavirus and, with the actions we have taken, the steadfast vigilance and the co-operation of everyone around us to minimise exposure to and prevent the spread of this insidious infection, we are sure this situation will continue.
We will closely monitor the ever-changing situation and will continue to follow the advice of the UK Government, Public Health England and the World Health Organisation. We are also liaising with ARCO (Associated Retirement Community Operators) to share information and best practice advice with fellow members in the retirement sector.
This emergency situation is still having a huge impact on all of us, but hopefully there is now light at the end of the tunnel. If everyone continues to be careful and sensible at each stage of relaxation of the restrictions, hopefully we will see further reductions in the limitations of our lives and businesses, and together we will get through it.
On behalf of ERL, I would like to thank you for your understanding and support; we hope that you and your families and colleagues remain safe and well.
