History of Mount Battenhall with John Hodges

We were pleased to welcome local author John Hodges to share his book about the fascinating history of Mount Battenhall. The book, which contains numerous photographs and other illustrations, covers the early medieval manorial estate to the present property and grounds, including its various uses over the years and the ultimate restoration of the building by ERL to create the centrepiece of the Mount Battenhall Retirement Village. Georgina Britten-Long, the great-granddaughter of the Hon. Alfred Percy and Lillian Maud Allsopp who once lived in the mansion, also spoke recounting stories of her ancestral family and Battenhall House. This was followed by a book signing and refreshments for all our owners/occupiers and guests owners.
